Get organized with Paper Mache: Pocket Wall Organizer

Earlier this month, Sarah got your drawing implements under control, and Ann helped get those pesky paint bottles out of your hair. That left me the formidable task of figuring out what to do with all those little bits and bobs that we artists collect over time. Tiny cut out eyeballs or four blue brads are certainly worth saving, but it’s horribly frustrating when you know you just saw them on Thursday but can’t find them on Saturday!

In my world, surface space is at a premium. so I designed a wall hung organizer that you can customize to suit your needs. Keep reading to find out how you can store – and find – your future doo-hickeys.

Get Organized With Paper Mache: Multi-Tiered Paint Storage

Organizing art supplies is kind of like whacking heads off a hydra:  It’s a never ending process that still manages to be profoundly satisfying.  Last week, Sarah attacked the hydra with crazy-cool paper mache storage for colored pencils and markers, which she created using little more than a cardboard box, paper, and glue.  This week, I’ll be taking a similar approach to taming my paints.  (Whack!)  If you don’t have a paint storage problem, this piece can easily store a variety of other art & crafting supplies: Twinkling H2Os, tubes of seed beads, jars of embossing powder, and more!

Work in Progress Wednesday: A Peek Inside the WonderStrange Arts Work Rooms (1/11/12)

This week, wonderstrangers all over the country are covered in glue and water.  I’m covered.  Cindy is covered.  Some of you are covered.  I think I even saw a glob on the cat.  The reason for all of this glue and water, of course, is that we’re featuring paper mache projects all month long, and not just any projects, but really cool projects that help you organize your art and crafting supplies.  Last Friday, Sarah turned a leftover box from the holidays into amazing custom storage for colored pencils and markers.   It rocked so hard that two people have already made pieces inspired by the tutorial.

While the world turns and the paper mache dries, meanwhile, we’re all working on things for our shops as well.  For a sneaky peek, keep reading!
