Here is a little-known fact about me:  I have been embroidering since I was 6.  I also have been doing cross-stitch since 6th grade when I took it as an elective – my math teacher’s family owned a yarn store, and she offered a counted cross stitch class every year.  We each received a kit so that we could learn how to do it:  A teddy bear holding a balloon.  Many many many MANY years later, I still hate that teddy bear.  I never gave up on cross-stitching, though.

Over the holidays, I did some stitching and went a little crazy with the patterns on Etsy.  I spent hours searching to find the perfect patterns for each one of my friends and came out dissatisfied.  Of course, I didn’t have time to actually STITCH anything for them, but, in that mad hunt for patterns and not finding exactly what I wanted, I decided that I would start designing patterns this year.  ALL BLATHERING ASIDE, here’s my first pattern!  For free!  WOO!

heheheheh.  Food with a face.  I’m sure you’re shocked.  Click here to download the PDF of the pattern for the printing and the stitching.

As always, I’d love to see it if you do something with it!  I would stitch on something other than white just because that egg is white, but you feel free to get down with your bad self.

Sarah wants to know how everything works. She also has a short attention span and is addicted to coffee. Those two things are probably not mutually exclusive.

I'm going to do it on an apron. Where is the number chart to be found?

OMG I LOVE this! Note to self: MUST spend afternoon digging thru floss to find the right colors.

How did you know I am addicted to bacon (with french toast and maple syrup) and to counted cross-stitch?

I have checked the blog all week, I have been sick with that lovely bug for 14 days now. This great cross stitch will look cute on a kitchen towel. I have a bunch, so I think I will make one. Should only take a couple hours. Thank you for all the great posts and goodies this week.

Oh no! I'm so sorry you've been sick! 🙁

I am planning on doing a series of these, peanut butter and jelly are probably next, so get your kitchen towels ready! 😉
